The better prepared you are against such pitfalls, the more likely it is you'll bypass them.

If there is one thing I have read so many times in marketing forums is the newbie scream for help.

Beginners often have a difficult time focusing on one business or strategy, and sometimes start suffering from information overload. Overextending yourself is an easy thing to do online, as it's so easy to put up a blog, website or Web 2.0 property, but not so easy to build it up so that it's profitable. You'll be much more effective if you stick to one business at first, and not start something new until the first one is profitable. You will only get confused and frustrated if you try to do too much at once, so focus on one project at a time. If you don't mind interviewing people (or experts) this is a great foundation for an idea. Obviously the idea isn't new but you will be able to take the approach of creating a specialty in expert webinars. You can make use of local experts which is certainly the easiest route but you can also spend some time seeking out experts outside of your immediate area. All you have to do is book one expert or two to create a couple of webinars and give yourself more than enough material for your own product. Or, as was mentioned earlier, you can use that content in a number of ways in your marketing. Doing this sort of thing probably sounds like a bunch of work but the truth is that it really isn't.

We have just discussed the product creation process for newbies. You now need to know how to market to the same group to start generating sales. Many people use webinars to market to newbies, something that is unique in that many people are doing more and more today. There are a few online marketers who have really made a killing just working with newbies. All you need is a webinar and for them to show up. Since they are new, then you can very easily entice them with very solid and useful information. But you have to deliver on your promises, so be sure you do your research well and take good care of them. You'll spend your time much more wisely if, instead, you spend time working on these marketing techniques. Anything you decide is going to be fine, you can choose one, all, two or none of these ideas and go with them. No matter what, though, you should spend some time thinking about diversity with your marketing and figure out how to use it to save your business if the wind changes your luck.
