The biggest mistake new Internet marketers make is not putting in the effort to build a strong relationship with their target market. This can be done in a number of different ways. A great way to do this is to develop a blog that gives your targeted audience information they may have an interest in. They go through the content, leave comments; you get back to them, etc. This tells your prospects who they're dealing with. This will have you connecting with them in a very effective way. Your job as an online marketer is to make sure your customers/prospects are satisfied, and this can only happen when they share a bond with you and trust what you're saying. Trust must be there if you hope to form a business bond with them. There are so many ways to form bonds with your target audience so you only have to think outside the box. You can even write a newsletter that offers information your subscribers will find useful. Your ultimate objective is to engage your audience in some way, so that when you sell them something, they don't have second thoughts on the quality because they already trust you enough. Another mistake that Internet marketers make is actually something that should be avoided from day one, which is not having a direct response sales copy on your website. You can't just sit down and talk to someone about your product face to face, and so the words on your website must convince them that buying your product is beneficial to them. So you must have sales copy that tells them why your product is beneficial to them. Just having general information about the product won't help because people on the web buy on impulse, they buy for emotional reasons. And, you must provide them with how your product will benefit them if you want them to buy what you're offering.

Don't make the mistake of seeing your Internet marketing business as a part time job or something that you do on the side. This is the worst of the mistakes that many online marketers make because until and unless you're able to see your Internet marketing business as a real business, you won't reach a higher level. It's not something you can just do now and again. Take your Internet marketing venture seriously and soon you'll find that you're not only giving more time to it, but also getting more profits out of it.
